Take down the walls

The girls want to dance.

Open the windows

The mothers want to water the flowers.

Empty the streets

The children want to smile driving their colored cars.

Open the doors

The fathers want to play music.

Take away the borders

From China to America

From Arbil to Sidney.

Open the ways,

The airways,

The lands,

The seas.

Me! I want to dance without boarders.

Dance! To dance zorba,

So that all of you come out with joy

From north to south,

From east to west.

Then we will shake the earth,

And at war, at our follies,

Wewill laugh wholeheartedly.

We will sew together the flags.

We will make carpets for the children

To play and roll on top of.

Open the ways.

Girls carrying freedom on their shoulders

They map out the road

From the east

From the darkest place

Where there are days the frowning demons dressed in black

Dreaming of the caliphate,

But those,

Those women, and those men

Carrying freedom on their shoulders,

Laugh and play music,

And prepare the earth for our communal dance.
